Wande Coal, Sean Tizzle, Lil Kesh – Which One Of These Artistes Desperately Needs To Go Back To Their Old Label?

Posted by Jim Donnett on February 23, 2017 in Editorial, Social Views · 32 Comments

It is no lie that the music propaganda of some of our favourite industry idols haven’t exactly been on form of late. The reasons for these vary from a false sense of arrival to sheer pride, a lack of structure perhaps on the part of management, a wrong career decision and especially, pure laziness.

This post examines the careers of three such firebrand artistes – former YBNL soldier, Lil Kesh; Sho Lee crooner, Sean Tizzle; and Black Diamond star, Wande Coal. Our job here is simple, since we’ve highlighted the facts for you to discuss, we require that you tell us who amongst them desperately needs to have a rejoinder with their former label.

Lil Kesh

Although he might be too quick to label his solidarity with the YBNL crew, but the fact still remains that there’s an obvious void in the operations of his music business since transitioning to his self-owned label, YAGI Records. It is possible that Keshi’s vision while in alliance with Olamide who is still a tried and tested baron of the streets, might not be the same as now that he has ventured out on his own. I perceive that it has dimmed a little bit

While many people still tout his debut album as one that had stylings of greatness embedded in it, Keshi is done, already dusted up and has even moved on quickly to other things like the very easy to forget Kojo and the mildly-appealing Shele Gan Gan. I can’t be the only one who has thought that such satisfactory results are quite unusual for the back-to-back lyrical hits monster.

Sean Tizzle

Whether he is with or without an actual music talent, that’s not even the question here. All we know is that Sean had a system that worked effectively for him until he decided to spoil it with his very own hands. Sources have it that a dirty ego, an ungrateful heart and a false sense of whether-it-was-but-I-can’t-tell-you-what-he-was-thinking, pretty much did him in. Some say he became obsessed with looking the starboy part hence the unevenness in the tone of his physical appearance while others have it that it was comedian Basketmouth who drove in the final 6-inch nail that sealed his career coffin.

You see, these are laughable yet strumming rumours which my place negates me from validating. However, upon closer observation you find that Sean hasn’t really gravitated off course in terms of musical approach or style. He remains unchanged. But it’s still a baffling thought why his career suffers a deficiency in sustainable relevance. I wonder why, I honestly wonder why.

Wande Coal

His inability to stay afloat since cutting ties with the Mavins shows it was a terribly wrong move decision. Not only has Wande Coal slacked badly in his creative persona, he has also failed woefully trying to strike gold in replicating the same formulas that equated into his many many instantaneous music hits while under the Don Jazzy-led leadership. The painful part is that he is so much of an actual talent but he seems to be wasting away on things of folly that aren’t doing him any good in abating his present plight.

Wande normally should be leader of the new school cult where Wizkid, Davido, Tekno and the Kiss Daniel likes have domineered. Even more painful is the fact that these guys who looked up to him are now the ones experiencing better career advancement than him. I mean somebody called Di’Ja was at Coke Studios last year, producer Shizzi is signing a deal with Sony Music Africa and then they’re calling Dotman to perform at the BBN eviction show. Wande needs to wake up and own his new reality.

  15. Jim Donnett, instead of writing rubbish articles about Artists that are moving forward, why not promote your music and video to get at least a thousand views on Youtube in 7 months. The same time spent on insulting these brands can be used wisely on yours. You should be ashamed of yourself.

You are good at always writing lame to bring down Nigerian artists. Foreigners praise the same people you and your team always attempt to bring down. Iron sharpens iron. The way you even move your mouth when you speak sucks and, i feel for your career as an artist and a blogger. Your entire team is filled with nothing but negative people. As you monitor the career of others, don’t ever forget that others are doing the same for yours. Grow up into a man.

    • Moving forward to where?
      Blind Bartimaeus. Hater oshi.

      • *Mark 10:46-52 Jesus Heals Blind Bartimaeus*

It’s obvious you don’t know your Bible, just as you don’t know these Nigerian Artists you attempt to write about. Hence, that makes you a false prophet. You preach another gospel and desperately need to go back to the real gospel.

See kettle calling the pot black. Your response clearly shows that you hurt too. Tables will turn someday when you are older and can’t write lame about others, then you will read what others feel about your music career. You are a few days away from getting your big lips sucker punched on the streets too.

Your Vevo has approximately 7 & 878 views for Aranbada and HIM respectively. Any of these dudes will surpass such ridiculously low views in 60 seconds. At least, tell Pepenazi to help promote your Vevo to have more than 8 subscribers too. You are wasting time writing bad about others instead of promoting yourself. There’s absolutely no reason to hate someone like you who’s doing badly at promoting himself and the firm you represent.

    • writing articles is part of the industry..this is a very big point he opened your eyes to and a lesson upcoming artiste should learn from never forget your roots and humble beginning so also not to be ungrateful
i feel if you were sensible enough you will know these articles made so much sense for people to learn from…
EVERYTHING IS FACT HERE. we talk wetin we dey see

      • Anonymous, you’re just too exclusive disguising to comment and defend yourself abi. Lol. Don’t hide and talk; come out plain. I’m outta here now

  16. lolz he just told u d fact, you sucks 4real jim. fucking ass hole dat keeps saying shits about artiste dat’s far far tight dan you.
#Ben nice one. I love you 4 those words.

  17. Rubbish Jim

  18. Wande coal should go back to his old record label

  19. wade Cole

  20. Wande coal is jst lazy.. I’m his fan. But honestly. He has nt impressed me in years.

But going back to his old label is not what he needs. He should jst drop good tunes rapidly. He has two dope jams. Hopefully they ar going 2 b bangers dis year

  21. I think it’s time to put some respek on Wande coal’s name. He is a god! Wande will forever remain one of the finest in Nigeria music industry, I personally call him the “Goldsmith” cos every song he’s made is golden. You can never telll the 21st century Nigerian musical stories without him, so he deserve to be respected.

  22. they all here are currently experiencing tough times in their career, correct. but on this, seiously i will have to go with SEAN TIZZLE, this guy desperately needs to go back to his old label. Kesh has had something to brag about after leaving YBNL(which he clamed he never did), Shele Gan Gan at least, was something we can say Kesh did well on(BC, PR, Content wise(audio and video), maybe a few others.

Wande Coal on the other hand has done some really great things without the Mavins(even though he would have done better with them) . Tracks like Super Woman, Ballerz and Features on Hit track has proven that Wande Coal withou Mavin is a talented singer.

now Sean Tizzle on the other hand, what track can we really identify him with after leaving Difference entertainment? aside from that he has lost originality, focus and has lost the Sean Tizzle sound everyone loved right from day one. He, really needs to rethink his stands without D-Tunes.

    • Thank you’. I thought nobody was going to mention Sean Tizzle

  23. Lill kesh should go back
