At this stage in my career and life, finding the time to record another Illegal Music was purely a labor of love. I hope that Nigerian HipHop will rise and claim its place at the table on HipHops mount olympus.
I would like to see a lot of rappers remix and recreate the song ‘The Box’

The team was GPLUS Ckay and I and i want to appreciate them for their love in making this ‘FREE’ project. lol

Fortitude, T3WMF, Black Child thank you.
Yoye Hayba thanks for being the A&R on this project. Toda Kafang you are the greatest thanks for pushing me always. CC i got you always. TMXO and Yung Kheengz thank you for your contributions.
To the fans.. I love you #LoveYours.

The rapper, then continued the letter with several tweets professing that he is better than 95% of American rappers.

  1. Abaga??? Always on. Point!

  2. Yea tym to mk out JayZ’s frm african dat gonna Conquer the Musik World!shout out to king M

  3. !How the hell is MI better than 95% of America’s rappers? He started his career struggling to sound like Kanye, then he tried a Dwayne Carter stuff, tried a Nas and failed! These days he’s struggling to sound like Kendrick Lamar. Listen to all of his songs and compare. 95% of America’s rappers? Where the likes of Hopsin, Bun B, Styles P, Fabolous, Jadakiss, Fredro Starr, Canibus, Pharaohe Monche, Freddie Gibbs, Joey Badass, Big KRIT, etc. The list is endless. He cant match these guys.

    • If you know the number of American rappers there are, You would realise you don’t know up to 10% of them so when MI says he’s better than 95% he’s looking at the big picture not the basic ones you hear of everyday

      • Seriously? Maybe MI is referring to the likes of Young Thug, Future, Waka Flocka Flame, Soulja Boy, Tyga and Meek Mill. Dude, these guys dont even make up to 1.88% of America’s rappers. Don’t get me wrong, I like the fact that he tried setting a new standard in Naija rap scene but he should not claim to be better than 95% of America’s rappers. Besides, am waiting for AKA to murder his wack ass in their coming collab.

        • @chieff there are a lot of underground or unknown rappers in America. If you visit WSHH you would come across a host of names you’ve never seen. The ones with one hit wonder n trying to get back on track. 95% is a high number but let’s be honest rappers that make trap music all make trash n there are a lot of them out there. lil this lil that, the asap mob isn’t all that etc

Aka isn’t on MI’s level. He’s same level with Ice Casper N even Sark is better than Aka n Sark respects MI

But from the IM3 you’ve to say it’s top quality

          • @chenko, dude u seem to be really conversant with the underground, I like that. And the fact u said 95 is exaggerated too. In all, I support MI music, I’ve bought all his albums and downloaded his IM2 tape. You have to acknowledge that Nigeria hiphop is still very from a grammy nomination.

    • This dude knows his HIP-HOP very well.
