Modenine

Veteran rap artiste, Modenine, is set to drop his new.

According to him, the said album titled, ‘Insulin’, which also happens to be his fifth album will drop on, August 16, 2016.

Modenine, who has won the Headies award for lyricist on the roll, seven consecutive time, before now, bemoaned the reception his albums get upon release. According to him no one appreciates the good work he puts into them.

I put out a whole album nobody cared – a whole 20 track album Alphabetical Order, nobody gave a f**k, nobody cares. You see how the industry is, how do you expect me to feel? Nigerians don’t like hip hop they only follow the hype, they don’t even know what it is

His other albums include; Pluribus Unum “One Amongst Many” -2006, “ The Paradigm Shift”  -2008, “ Da Vinci Mode”  -2010, and “  Above Ground Level “ – 2014, he also has collaborative albums and mixtapes to his credit.

  1. OGA MODENINE, HIP HOP DON CHANGE, U ARE STILL IN THE 90s THATS WHY YOUR HIP HOP RECEIVES NO ATTENTION, MUSIC MOVES WITH TREND, BOTH THE BEATS, INSTRUMENTALS HAVE CHANGED BUT YOU STILL SAMPLE BEATS FROM THE 80s AND 90s AND YOU EXPECT THE 21st CENTURY HIP HOP FAN TO GIVE A FUCK ABOUT YOUR SOUND???? YOU MUST BE KIDDING ME…
NO DOUBT U ARE LYRICALLY A MONSTER BUT U CAN STILL BE A TIGHT ON AN AFRO INSPIRED BEAT…EVEN AMERICAN THAT YOU MIMIC NOW SAMPLE AFRICAN BEATS IN THEIR WORK

    • U so lame with such dumb comment, everyone mustn’t sound stupid and lame like d aforementioned artist in Nigeria,Nas,mobb deep masta ace, royce da59 haven’t gone pop but still sell s and go for turnout shows#learn

  5. Mode music may not get the kinda of reception he desires but that isn’t unusual. Its important to understand that not too many people appreciate core hiphop. However there are a few people out there & I make bold to say that I’m one of them who has remained an ardent follower of Modenine through the years. For example I have all Mode9 tapes and he remains my number one Nigerian artist. However the other artists may have more fans who are not as loyal as I am when it comes to Mode9 materials & that’s what relevant means
I feel Mode should quit the blame game and concentrate on the die hard fans like me who’ll never scroll past a Mode9 song without pressing the download button

  6. This modenine issue dey pain me sha. My nigga ask say between mode and MI who impact hip hop for naija the most? Me i no sabi wetin to talk. Na the same matta Nas and Jay z dey face. Nas is the gretest lyrically but Jay is more successful.

  7. Dis mode9 issue dey pain me sha. My nigga ask say btw mode and MI who impact hip hop 4 naija d most? Me i no sabi wetin 2 talk. Na d same matta Nas & Jay z dey face. Nas is the greatest lyrically but Jay is more successful.

  9. Na the same matta Nas & Jay z dey face. Nas is the greatest lyrically but Jigga is more successful.

  10. Mode has few fans who are very loyal like myself I’ve followed Mode religiously since 2005 buying & downloading almost every of his works, however the other artists with larger fan base don’t have very loyal fans whose loyalty is comparable to those of Mode. Now that’s the true meaning of relevance.Even in the U.S the likes of Immortal Technique,Killah Priest,Krs Ones remain underground with lesser fanbase than the mainstream artists but their relevance is unquestionable!

    • Nice comment, pls follw me on IG kayslay_45

  16. No doubt Mode is good. But the truth is, my guy, ur hardcore is good. Just that you need to start doing music that is suitable to every fan of music. I am a lyricist too n once gone deep but realised few listenners. People complain they hardly hear the lyrics maybe due to the strong words involved and the nature of the instrumentals….#Let fans of music c themselves in your music and you wont have to worry ’bout them refusing your albums…#can’t wait 4 ur album to drop wont
