Singing About Fraud Doesn’t Mean You Approve Of It – Toni Payne Defends 9ice

Posted by Temitope Delano on June 23, 2017 in HOT!!, News · 4 Comments

Families are beginning to get entangled in the Falz, 9ice ”Fraud Glorification’ drama, as Toni Payne, ex-wife to the Living Things crooner, has come out to defend her ex.

Toni, who use to manage 9ice,  took time out to defend Nigerian artistes and their craft saying they draw inspiration from things happening around them and put them into their music, adding that doing this, doesn’t mean they approve of their fans picking up the lifestyle depicted in their songs.

This defence comes after top music agent, Ayo Shonaiya, bared his thought concerning the issue tweeting:

When we sang and danced to Maga Don Pay (shout Halleluyah) back then, what the fuck did we think the younger ones will sing & dance to today?

Read their exchange below:

With all these being said…thoughts anyone?

  1. My goodness, how can an enlightened person say such stupid things. Nigeria is truly a padi padi country. Music is a source of inspiration to people. Maybe those songs didn’t inspire you but they surely inspired someone else. If a song about love inspires people to fall in love why can’t these songs inspire people to commit crime

  2. No names were mentioned so what’s the fuss about pls
