Diary of a Man Utd Fan Part 2

Well I am back again, back with my Man Utd gist. I was so glad about the international break because some of my boys were able to recover from their injuries. Playing Westham FC with my injury ravaged squad would be difficult because they are beginning to get back to their best as the season draws to a close and they are in the relegation battle.  Well as usual it’s a must win game for my beloved Red Devils as we chase our 19th league title. It is also one of seven games for us in the month of April.

I was expecting a tough battle as always because Westham have enough top class players in Scott Parker, Mark Noble, Demba Ba, Fredric Piquonne, and Naija’s Obinna Nsofor though no be by name again for EPL o at least we know those that bought a player for £50m and no returns till date. Well as always before the game I was thinking of my response to those that will ping, call or text if my boys lose the game.

Our starting line-up had the usual suspects (Rooney, Vidic, Evra) and was shocked when I didn’t see Van Der Saar, Nani and Chicharito amongst the starting XI but as usual nobody be sabi reach Baba (Sir Alex Ferguson). He obviously left some key players out because of the Champions league clash against Chelsea on Wednesday night.

The game started well for Man Utd and they had the better of the ball possession in the first 15 minutes amassing  4 corner kicks in the process (na that one I go chop?). Disaster struck when Evra handled the ball in the box after Carlton Cole brought out a trick from his thinking hat (Na against Man Utd una dey always wake up, hiss). Mark Noble scored the resultant spot kick and I was still confident we would equalise in no time but alas my Mr. Reliable (Vidic) let me down falling for Carlton Cole’s step overs (I tire o, this Cole guy no sabi like that now). Well Westham were having a ball to be honest and while they were scoring we were busy amassing corners (11 in the 1st half alone, smh). Truth be told Vidic should have been sent off in the 1st half but then again 2-0 never do them? 1st half ended 2-0 with little hope in the 2nd half for my boys. Fergie go so para (I just hope nobody gets hurt).

Well our 2nd half started brightly just like the 1st though Westham had good chances too but then again we all know it’s not over till “the fat lady sings” and guess who brings his A+ game into the  2nd half? That young man Wayne Rooney (chai my darling friend Kemi Soyombo would have scattered their living room). A well struck freekick, a nice strike in a box and a penalty by Rooney gave Man Utd a 3-2  lead (makes it 101 premier league for Man Utd for the young lad) and moments later Chicharito made it 4-2 .  Like I said earlier nobody sabi like Sir Alex, he made tactical changes that swung the game Man Utd’s way. Taking Evra out for the Chicharito and Ryan Giggs had to fill the left back position. Then J.S Park was taken off for Berbatov and Rooney sacrificed for Nani minutes after bagging his hatrick. So yet again you guys won’t be able to read the excuse I was coining out for my team if we had lost.

Well the Kings of comebacks have done it again for the 4th time this season (getting something from losing positions) and Fabio has won me over with a terrific display. My man of the match personally would be Ryan Giggs for playing the left back role like it was his favourite position though I am sure most people would pick Rooney because his goals assured us of victory. The other games of the weekend were fun to watch after our victory.  Thanks for the draws Chelsea and Arsenal.

Thanks again for your time guys. God bless.
