For this reason, Tooxclusive has compiled a list of the Best Nigerian collaborations of 2021 based on the following criteria; The song or it music video must be released between Dec 2020 – Nov. 2021 and must be own by a Nigerian.

21. “Somebody Baby” – Peruzzi feat. Davido
This list would have been incomplete without Davido X Peruzzi`s 2021 monster jam. It ruled the hearts of many Nigerian lovers with extra toxic relationships. It was a dope jam.
As a lead to his second studio album ‘Rum & Boogie‘, Peruzzi delivers this beautiful tune ‘Somebody Baby’ featuring DMW leader DAVIDO.

On this list and rightly so is MOOD, the second song off Wizkid’s Made In Lagos Deluxe album. Wizkid X Buju gave us a perfect hit collabo with this while music fans Look forward to them working together in the future. STREAM HERE
19. “Egedege” – Larry Gaaga feat. Theresa Onuorah, Flavour, Phyno
Egedege is one of the most phenomenal songs that dropped in 2021. Rooted in Igbo culture and a remake of Theresa Onwoenu`s classic record. It trended for the right reasons and definitely deserves a spot as an elite collaboration by Larry Gaaga X Theresa. STREAM HERE
18. “Champion Sound” – Davido feat. Focalistic
Although Champion Sound was recently released by Davido X Focalistic it quickly took over both the charts and the streets and sure deserves a spot on this list.
17. “Holy Father” – Mayorkun feat. Victony
Holy Father is a uniquely crafted record by Mayorkun and Victony. It was released as one of the lead singles to Mayorkun`s (BIO) Back In Office album, and definitely is the biggest song on the album. STREAM HERE
16. “Pronto” – Ajebo Hustlers feat. Omah Lay

15. “Hallelu” – Masterkraft feat. Bella Shmurda and Zlatan
Masterkraft X Zlatan X Bella Shmurda on a track is like cocaine. Multiple Award Winning Producer, MASTERKRAFT dropped the single titled ”HALLELU” late 2020 after teaming up with BELLA SHMURDA and ZLATAN. This addictive record is an Afropop-Amapiano tune that is highly spiritual, and A definite street hop hit. GET HERE
14. “The Best” – Davido feat. Mayorkun
The Best is a song off Davido`s A Better Time album, featuring Davido’s protege- The Mayor of Lagos, Mayorkun. This particular collabo was a great banger all year and one of the songs that saved A Better Time from being a flop.
13. “Coming” – Naira Marley feat. Busiswa
Coming is as controversial as Naira Marley himself. It`s a song about orgasm and the reaction that followed it is natural. Music fans all over the world go crazy over sultry sounds.

12. “Bling” – Blaqbonez feat. Buju Amaare
Bling Bling Bling Bling…..Ding!! featuring Amaarae & Buju is off Blaqbonez’s Debut Album Sex Over Love
The song by rapper Blaqbonez is one of the biggest songs of 2021 and it dropped as a lead single to his Sex Over Love album. The three youngsters dropped a classic in 2021 and everyone loves them for it. GET HERE
11. “Running (To You)”
Chike undoubtedly had a great run in 2020 with his Boo of the Booless album, and he still locked 2021 down on a mindblowing number with Simi – RUNNING. Great song, superb production and dope lyrics. Thanks to Chike for bringing R&B back.
10. “Somebody’s Son” – Tiwa Savage feat. Brandy
Somebody`s Son was Tiwa Savage`s saving grace of 2021. She needed a bigger hit and a search for love blended with Brandy gave her just what she needed, another monster hit.
9. “Southy Love” – Peruzzi feat. Fireboy DML
Southy Love by Peruzzi and Fireboy is one of the hottest love songs of 2021. These two vocal powerhouses on a track is nothing short of magic and that`s what Southy Love really is. DOWNLOAD HERE.
8. “For You” – Teni feat. Davido
For You is the only Teni-standard hit on the Wondaland album. It`s a feature with Davido and has done a great job of making sure that Teni maintains her peak while she does the job of crafting projects that`ll take her to the next level.

6. “High” – Adekunle Gold feat. Davido
High is the climax of Adekunle Gold`s 2020/2021. The feature not only gave Gold a huge boost, it also helped Davido maintain his position as one of the top three artists in the country. High was a killer monster jam.
5. “Feeling” – Ladipoe feat. Buju
Feeling by Ladipoe X Buju is undoubtedly the biggest record locally in 2021. It opened a floodgate of features for Buju and equally elevated Ladipoe from rapper status to a full-bred musician.
4. “KPK (Ko Por Ke)” – Rexxie & Mohbad
KPK by Rexxie X Mohbad had a fantastic run in 2021 with everyone lapping up Amapiano sounds like dog on bone. This is a standout Amapiano record, and despite having no chorus, Mohbad killed the hook and left the whole country savoring the taste.
3. “Cash App” – Bella Shmurda x Zlatan and Lincoln
Cash-App is the song that eventually sealed the deal for Bella Shmurda as a true African pop star. It was definitely one of the biggest street hop songs of 2020/21.
2. “Highway” – DJ Kaywise feat. Phyno
Highway is DJ Kaywise`s peak as a music industry mogul; starting from his lowly days as a street DJ. The feature with Phyno is one of the most memorable Amapiano numbers of 2020 & 2021 and deserves a spot among the greats.
1. “Essence” – Wizkid feat. Tems
Essence sits high up on the list of collaborations of 2021. Its impact on the African/Black music culture is undeniable and its unprecedented feat of cracking the Billboard Hot 200,100, & 10 consecutively is mindblowing. Huge shout out to Wizkid & Tems for this phenomenal record.

Notable Mentions
1. “Ke Star Remix”
After dropping the album (SghubuSesExcellent) and song of the year (Ke Star), Focalistic : South Africa’s Hottest MC 2020 {As voted for by MTV Base} releases the visuals for the Remix of the chart topping banger “Ke Star” featuring @davido and @vigrodeep. The single has since reached top 5 in 9 African music charts and top 10 in the UK! Davido gives an enthralling verse over the smooth log drum of VigroDeep to seal the deal.

Ke Star Remix is absolutely legendary, would have made the list were it not a South African collaboration. Big Shouts to Focalistic X Davido!
2. “Yaba Buluku Remix”
Yaba Buluku was definitely Burna Boy`s reciprocal banger aimed at Davido who scored an easy continental hit with Ke Star. The chorus coincidentally, sounds similar to Burna Boy`s tag line “Odogwu you bad”. It was quickly adapted by Poco Lee and the rest is well, history. Major shout out to the Yaba Buluku boys X Burna Boy X Poco Lee. This collaboration didn’t make the list because it belongs to a Mozambican artist.
3. “Zazoo Zehh!!!”
PocoLee X Portable X Olamide gave the entire country and industry a Christmas hit that no one will ever forget. Big year for Poco Lee, Massive year for Portable. Olamide showed love and even the audiences cannot get enough of it.
This song didn’t make the list because it release didn’t fall in our year of review (Dec. ’20 -Nov. ’21) but it is worthy of a mention.
4. “PERU”
Peru was hands down the most addictive song of 2021. An obvious freestyle from YBNL powerhouse, FireboyDML. This song will continue to do massive numbers in 2022 and is definitely headed for a billboard entry with its smash remake with British singer, Ed Sheeran. The collaboration didn’t make our list because it dropped late December 2021. But Big Shout to Fireboy DML and Ed Sheeran.
