Peruzzi, whose real name is Tobechukwu Victor Okoh, was born on December 5, 1995, in Lagos, Nigeria. Growing up in a musically inclined household, he developed an early interest in music which paved the way for his future career. Peruzzi attended the University of Lagos where he studied Biology, but his passion for music eventually led him to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
Career Beginnings
Peruzzi began his career as a songwriter and soon gained recognition for his melodic style and ability to blend urban Afrobeats with R&B influences. He collaborated with various artists and producers, eventually catching the attention of influential figures in the Nigerian music scene.
Rise to Prominence
His rise to fame was significantly propelled by his association with Davido’s DMW (Davido Music Worldwide) label, which he joined in 2018. His breakout single “Majesty” topped charts and showcased his distinct sound, further solidifying his place in the industry. In 2019, he released his debut body of work, an EP titled ‘Heartwork’ which featured hit singles such as “Nana” and “Only One.” The project received critical acclaim and demonstrated his versatility as an artist.
