JJC Skillz & Naira Marley Declared Wanted By Police As Funke Akindele Gets Arrested For Defying Lockdown Order

Nigerian actress, Funke Akindele has been arrested by the Nigerian Police force and her husband, JJC Skilz and Naira Marialy have asked to turn themselves in.

The actress threw a surprise birthday party to celebrate her husband’s 43rd birthday in their Lagos home on the 4th of April, 2020. However, the guests who attended exceeded the number of persons stated by the government to be at a gathering. Videos of the party surfaced online and the likes of Naira Marley and Eniola Badmus were in attendance.

Nigerians reacted and called for the immediate arrest of the actress and her husband. She later apologized over the incident, saying most of those who attended the party were colleagues who were living temporarily within the estate and could not return to their home states because of the lockdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Due to the order by the Lagos Infection Diseases Regulations 2020 (the Regulations)which prescribes a jail term of one month or N100,000 fine or both for persons found guilty of hosting gatherings or flouting the lockdown order, the Nigerian Police Force swung into action and arrested the actress.  There are also in search of the “Soapy” singer,  JJC Skillz and others.
