Hello people!! I haven’t been here in awhile and for that I must apologize. It’s been months since I posted on here and alot has happened but I won’t go into all the sordid details. As of yet I still haven’t gotten my sister to bring me that yummy Nigerian food I asked her for. I think a visit is the only way i will get to taste some of your fine cuisine. Usually I would be of the mind that something like that could not possibly happen but one never knows right? Maybe a plane ticket could just fall right smack dab into my lap the way money falls from trees :). But a visit would be nice.
So this here person graduated campus. Hoorah for me! Now things really are thick cause i can only stay at mommy’s for oh soo long. Don’t get me wrong, she wouldn’t kick me out. She’d actually beg me to stay (bless her soul) but I’m the one who would be kicking myself out because Lord knows when it’s time to fly the coup, its time to spread your wings and jump out head first! Which brings me to thoughts about what my 1st crib would be like. We see them in magazines, videos and on MTv-young people living large. Obviously I wouldn’t be able to start out in my sprawling go-down type apartment with lovely rugs all over the floor and a spiral staircase to my exposed bedroom on the 2nd level. Don’t forget the 49 inch plasma screen (LCD is way expensive!) with a hi-fi system built in strategically into certain sections of the wall so as to get nice surround sound without all those cables sticking out from the traditional 5.1 speaker systems. Nope, that is a pipe dream….
I’d most likely end up in a bedsitter and an untidy one at that. I may be female but it doesn’t mean I am naturally tuned to be a house keeper. My room is usually in a state of chaos. Thus, to keep everything neat I would most likely just have a mattress, desk and chair. (but we all know that that’s because that’s the only stuff i’d be able to buy on my meagre graduate starting salary.) Why did i move out of home again?? Oh yeah, freedom! Despite everything a person fills up their house with at the end of the day the joy is not in the gadgets but in the space. The space one can call one’s own. Where you’re the boss and life is simple….untill you get married :).
