Shallipopi
Shallipopi is one of the most disruptive voices in Nigeria’s new street-pop wave. Known for his “Pluto Presido” persona, slang-heavy lyrics, and hypnotic flows, he built his movement from the streets of Benin City to the top of national charts. His music blends raw street energy with catchy Afrobeats rhythms, making him one of the most talked-about hitmakers of his generation.
Born Crown Uzama on April 12, 2000, in Edo State, Nigeria, Shallipopi grew up in Benin City where he developed his unique sound and street-inspired style. He studied Computer Science at Auchi Polytechnic before fully committing to music.
In 2023, Shallipopi exploded onto the scene with the viral hit “Elon Musk.” The song quickly became a street anthem, dominating TikTok and entering national charts. The remix featuring Fireboy DML and Zlatan expanded his reach even further.
His debut album Presido La Pluto (2023) debuted at No. 1 and confirmed him as a major force in Nigerian music. He followed it with Shakespopi (2024), another chart-topping project led by the hit single “ASAP.”
Shallipopi launched Plutomania Records in 2023, signing rising acts and building a loyal fanbase known as “Pluto Boys.” His influence continues to grow through viral releases, street credibility, and high-energy performances.
Despite facing legal issues in 2023, Shallipopi remained consistent musically, turning challenges into momentum and strengthening his brand. His resilience and authenticity have kept him relevant in Nigeria’s fast-moving music scene.
With back-to-back No. 1 albums, millions of streams, and a rapidly expanding international audience, Shallipopi stands as one of the defining street-pop artists shaping Nigeria’s modern sound.
