After forming the highlife group,Nakorex together with fellow highlife artists Nat Brew and Akosua Agyapong in 1992, the founder Rex Omar disclosed in an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz fm that he is not bothered about getting hit songs at this stage of his music career because he has done it all.
He also said that all he is interested in now is sustaining his legacy as a Ghanaian veteran and he has nothing to prove to Ghanaians as they can testify to his success in the music industry.
“I have nothing to prove to Ghanaians. I have done it all and Ghanaians themselves can testify and that’s why I still get shows to play. All I am interested in now is to sustain my legacy, that’s all”
He advises upcoming artists to focus on getting hit songs that can promote their names in the industry and also to make them good money.
“I’m no more interested in getting hit songs. I’ve grown and passed that stage. I now want songs that will grow beyond me, but if you are a young artiste, you have to get a hit song in order to make your name in this industry and also make some good money,”
