Obour’s father died at the Ridge Hospital in the last week of March 2020 after he reportedly returned from the UK on March 19. He was said to have started coughing on March 24, and as his condition was getting worse, Obour, the MUSIGA President ordered for him to be brought to Accra for treatment.
Obour, according to the reports, did not disclose his father’s travel history to the health officers at the hospital, and so, he was admitted to the emergency ward for treatment. However, the situation kept worsening which called for further tests only for it to be known that Obour’s father had coronavirus.
Thus, the reports, put the lives of about 20 health workers, as well as other patients in the ward who interacted with Obour because he is a music star. Those health workers were consequently put on self-isolation until tests proved them negative.
