Early Life & Education
Born Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun on July 16, 1990, in Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria, Wizkid developed a passion for music at a young age. He briefly attended Lagos State University (LASU) before leaving to fully pursue his music career.
Career Beginnings
Wizkid began recording music in his early teens under the name Lil Prinz. His breakthrough came in 2009 with “Holla at Your Boy,” leading to the release of his debut album Superstar (2011), which established him as a leading voice in Nigerian pop music.
