Darey teamed up with Nigeria’s King of Reggae and dancehall music, Patoranking to deliver a brand new tune titled Jojo.
JOJO here is a follow up to the song ‘Jah Guide Me’, Veteran singer Darey features dancehall music General, Patoranking called on Pheelz mr producer (Phillip Kayode Moses) and recorded this new Banger/Smash Hit!. The record would make you go for the dance-floor and dance, dance till infinity.
Over the years, Darey has worked as a disc jockey, TV presenter, entertainment consultant, voice over artist and performing/recording artist. In 2004, he came to limelight during the Project Fame music reality show. He participated and emerged third in the contest. His record deal with Sony BMG Africa wasn`t a commercial success so two years after, he released his debut album βFrom Me To Youβ under Storms record. The album was a major breakthrough with singles like βFujiβ and βEscaladeβ which were massively airplay in the the Nigerian and international media. The single βOriginal Naijaβ was used as the theme song for the first ever edition of Big Brother Nigeria.
2008 saw Darey hosting the music based reality show βΛProject Fame West Africa` . This was where he first hit continental fame in the South Africa edition in 2004. In 2009, Darey released his highly anticipated follow up entitled βΛunDAREYtedβΛ, on the new start up label, Soul Muzik. The album sold over 150,000 copies across Nigeria in just two months.Β Cobhams Asuquo (A?a`s producer), 2face Idibia, Naeto C, 9ice, Tee-Y MixΒ were all featured on the album. The smash hit ballad βNot The Girl,β which has been nominated for several awards and won video of the year at the 2009 Nigerian Entertainment Awards held in Washington DC. In 2015 he blessed us with the Hit track βΛPray For MeβΛ featuring Soweto Choir, a song which is still in the heart of many till date.
Darey`s latest 2020 potential Hit-Β Jah Guide Me also produced by Pheelz is a record for all situations and with a depth that promises to get you thinking. The song music video currently has more than 1 million views on Youtube. Riding on the success of the previous this new one would definitely do more numbers cos it’s more of a commercial song with good pop-dancehall vibe.
