Things will only keep getting better for Tekno, as asides having some of his songs topping charts for months this year, and winning awards, snagging a Sony deal, the singer, has now been named as one of the acts to watch out for 2017.
Billboard magazine,Β who released its list forΒ hip hop and Rn b acts to watch in 2017, included the ‘Pana’ crooner on it.
In its words:
TeknoΒ already has a number of hits inΒ Nigeria, and Columbia Records took note, throwing its weight behind this agile, elastic-voiced singer. Tekno`s βPana,β which has already accumulated more than 13 million views on YouTube and inspired a minor version of a video challenge, is romantic and light on its feet withΒ little more than a nagging guitar line and squirts of bass, everything pegged to a serpentine forward march. There`s clearly a demand in the mainstream for feathery dance cuts like this one: close your eyes and imagine a smart radio programmer cueing this up after DrakeβΛs βToo Good.β
Other acts who made the list inlcude;Β Kehlani,Β AminΓΒ©,Β YFN Lucci,Β Leela James,Β Kodie Shane,Β Princess Nokia,Β Guordan Banks,Β Khalid,Β H.E.R.
