Right of passage for many artistes is the release of their debut album, which may further to lead to even more album release depending on that artiste’s decision. Albums, to many is a must do and I doubt have ever caused any debate as to if it is necessary.
Planet TV, conducted a survey amongst Nigerian artistes, asking if it is necessary that they release albums. The likes of Mayorkun, Terry Apala, answered in the affirmative, with Mayorkun saying an album not only gives the artiste an opportunity to be versatile, but also gives the fan so many choices to chose from, if need be.
Now these are their opinions, as the consumers of these projects, what really do you guys think. Should artistes still drop albums, or just stick to singles and EPs?
