The news hit the internet at sunset on the 1st of May, 2019 to a mixed reaction from music fans.
The record label made the announcement of the departure of the singer after her recording contract expired without both parties being able to agree for a contract extension in a statement signed by their A&R executive; Vincent Nwanze.

Simi became a household name in music as a result of her working relationship with X3M, she was able to achieve superstardom under the guidance of the label where she released two albums, Simisola in 2017 and her recently dropped Omo Charlie Champagne
