Sound Sultan Forever in our hearts….
The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) paid a glowing tribute to Sound Sultan after Nigeria`s men`s basketball team, D`Tigers thrashed Argentina on Monday.
The D`Tigers in preparation for the forthcoming Tokyo 2020 Olympics won 94-71 over fourth ranked Argentina in an exhibition in Las Vegas.

This victory is coming hours after they shocked the basketball world with a 90-87 win over Team USA who are known to have the best NBA players.
Taking to their verified Twitter account, NBBF dedicated Nigeria`s big wins against the USA and Argentina to the late veteran musician, Sound Sultan.
“We dedicate the victories against US & Argentina to late Olanrewaju Fasasi (@Soundsultan). You saw this day coming when Nigeria would become a dominant force in global basketball. Ironically, the day we won against @usabasketball, that was when you gave up the ghost. RIP”.

Sound Sultan died on Sunday, July 11 after a battle with throat cancer. During his lifetime, Sultan was a huge basketball enthusiast. He played in school and in 2015 acquired a stake in the Lagos Islanders, a Lagos-based basketball club founded in 1984.
His contribution and passion for sports was also acknowledged by President Buhari and the Governor of Lagos State, Sanwo-Olu as they paid tributes to him on the 12th of July 2021.
