Tems is trending for the wrong reasons!
The talented singer and songwriter has been receiving heavy backlash following her choice of dress to the 2023 Oscars. Tems stunned in a LEVER COUTURE gown, but sadly made headlines for blocking the view of other attendees with her net headpiece.
White folks hopped on Twitter to brutally drag Tems for being selfish and inconsiderate. In an interview with Harpers Baazar, Tems revealed the reason she chose the dress.
According to her, she wanted to stand out because it was her first Oscars. She disclosed that two years ago, she would have refused to wear the dress, but she was ready to go all out for her first Oscars. In her words;
Two years ago, I would’ve said no to this dress, Tems laughs. But it’s my first Oscars ”” I am going to go all out. I really wanted to make the most of the day. The dress is also my way of celebrating my work and the people around me, celebrating my country, and celebrating the people that are rooting for me. This dress says ‘Yes, yes, I am here!‘.
