Seun Kuti, a renowned Afrobeats vocalist, has revealed his harrowing experience while in police custody.
The Grammy Nominee was arrested for striking a police officer and was remanded in custody for several days before being released on May 23rd.
According to the singer, he was forced to sleep on a hard, cold floor in a cell with other prisoners. However, he added that this was preferable to fraternizing with politicians in the ‘Devils house’.
Seun wrote; “Dem put me for hard cold floor, in the midst of prisoners, still better than sitting in the devil`s house with politicians.”
The singer has since relocated to Switzerland, where he will commence his European music tour.
