Nigerian record production duo, Uzezi Oniko and Okiemute Oniko, known collectively as Legendury Beatz, snagged the Top R&B/Hip-Hop & Rap Song of the Year at the 2023 ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards for co-writing βΛEssence,` the global hit by Wizkid featuring Tems.
The award was organised by the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers.
Dr. Luke took home the Songwriter of the Year award for co-writing such hit songs as Latto`s βΛBig Energy,` Doja Cat`s βΛNeed to Know` and Nicki Minaj`s βΛSuper Freaky Girl.`
Warner Chappell Music was named publisher of the year for songs including Jack Harlow`s βΛFirst Class` and BeyoncΓΒ©`s βΛBreak My Soul` and βΛCuff It.`
Legendary rapper and producer, Dr. Dre received the inaugural ASCAP Hip-Hop Icon Award.
