Umu Obiligbo - Legacy Album Review 1

The sixth studio album by Afrik Sound pioneers and Nigerian superstars Umu Obiligbo, named Legacy, was just released.

Famed for their famous song Culture, Umu Obiligbo is a musical duet made up of Nigerian highlife/afrobeat singers Obiligbo Ebuka (Akunwafor) and his brother Obiligbo Ifeanyi (Okpuozor), who are from Anambra State. They started their musical career in 2012 and founded Umu Obiligbo Global as their label in 2018. Well-known for their steady stream of successes over the years, Umu Obiligbo has worked with many A-list celebrities, including D’Banj, Patoranking, Davido, and other well-known performers in the business.

The 14 tunes on Legacy, a highlife masterpiece, highlight the duo’s exceptional talent. Collaborations with renowned musicians including Beepee, Bisa Kdei, and the venerable Bracket are featured on the record. This musical marvel is set to leave a lasting impression on music lovers’ hearts and establish Umu Obiligbo as genuine highlife ambassadors, making an unforgettable impact on the industry.

With Legacy, they now provide partnerships with Ghanaian Bisa Kdei, Nigerian Bracket, and Nigerian Beepee. The goal of this record is to educate its audience by emphasizing lesson delivery. Umu Obiligbo is renowned for her proverbial storytelling and words of wisdom, which inspire and educate young people with each passing remark. Remarkably, Umu Obiligbo is one of the few musicians of their generation who use music to share wisdom and experiences; they achieve this by retaining their authenticity and street cred in every song. This record, in particular, is filled with many predictions, transforming the two into musical prophets.

The Nigerian musician, Umu Obiligbo, has established himself as a rebirth of ancient tunes and pop inventiveness on the β€œLegacy” album This new era of genius fit by Umu Obiligbo mostly results from an original renovation of several genres, enhanced by vivid storytelling and an impassioned rap-singing technique. Notably, Umu Obiligbo’s ability to create a distinctive sound by fusing choral harmonies and string arrangements distinguished him from his contemporaries. On the Legacy album, most of the instruments are performed live. The production was assisted by a group of producers that included Aku Wealth, Dr. Ozor, Mathew, Niyi P, Deeyaso, Boom Beats, Banana Boy, C Major, and Doktor Sett. The guitars were played by Fiokee, Jerry, and Best, with engineering handled by Jay Stuntz.

Final Thoughts

As seen by the album’s consistency, emerging artist Umo Obligbo appears to be in a great creative place right now that supports a system of dependable output and excellent caliber. It should come as no surprise that he appears to have a rekindled, voracious appetite for life, pursuing desire with ardor and adoration.

Remarkably, Umu Obiligbo maintains its integrity and appeal by infusing traditional wisdom and storytelling into each song on the project. Their partnerships with Bracket, Beepee, and Bisa Kdei give their music a new and varied flavour that increases their fan base throughout several African nations. Legacy demonstrates Umu Obiligbo’s skill in fusing modern beats with traditional African sounds, securing their status as trailblazers.
