Nigerian rapper, Terry Tha Rapman accuses the Grammy singer, Wizkid of causing the demise of the rap genre and is now attempting to do the same to Afrobeats.
Wizkid faced criticism from Terry Tha Rapman after his recent outburst on social media claiming that he does not consider himself an Afrobeats artist.
Recalling Wizkid’s social media post where he questioned fitting into a specific genre, Terry Tha Rapman responded on the X platform, alleging that Wizkid’s declaration of “rap is dead” contributed to the genre’s decline and that his latest remarks suggest a similar intention towards Afrobeats.
He cautioned Highlife musicians to be wary of Wizkid, hinting that he could be the next target of Wizkid’s influence.
In his words,
“First Rap, now Afrobeats. How many genres Wizkid wan kill? Highlife, run O!”
