Born David Adedeji Adeleke on November 21, 1992, in Atlanta, Georgia, Davido grew up in Lagos, Nigeria. He attended the British International School in Lagos before moving to the United States to study Business Administration at Oakwood University. He later returned to Nigeria to focus fully on music.
Breakthrough
Davido gained early recognition with “Back When” in 2011, but his breakthrough came in 2012 with the smash hit “Dami Duro.” The success of the single powered his debut album Omo Baba Olowo and established him as one of Nigeria’s fastest-rising artists.
