American rapper T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris, was mistakenly arrested at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport on Sunday night after being confused with another individual. A warrant had been issued for Harris in Baltimore, Maryland, where the suspect was wanted for alleged violent offenses against a woman, including stalking and possibly using a firearm.
Following the mix-up, T.I. was transported to Clayton County Jail. Since the warrant originated from out of state, this triggered an automatic extradition hearing. Steve Sadow, T.I.’s attorney, told TMZ that he promptly contacted the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office and secured T.I.’s release within two hours of his arrest.
The judge subsequently reviewed the case and dismissed the extradition order. Notably, Clifford Harris, the individual sought by authorities, is reported to weigh 205 pounds, while T.I. weighs 165 pounds. The complaint that led to the confusion was filed on June 13 of this year.
