Meanwhile, Mohbadβs Family Criticizes Lagos Police Investigation.Β Mohbadβs family has voiced their concerns and dissatisfaction regarding the Lagos State Police’s handling of the investigation into his death. In a letter from Taiwo Odumosu, representing the family, they criticized the police for their alleged lack of professionalism, diligence, and integrity in managing the case.

The family called for the current investigative team to be replaced by a specialized unit from headquarters. They accused the police of mishandling the crime scene, failing to respond adequately to their reports, and neglecting important evidence and witness statements.
βThe policeβs apparent avoidance of investigating this critical area is concerning and suggests a serious oversight in their investigative procedure,β the letter stated. The family expressed fears about a potential cover-up and urged that justice be pursued relentlessly.
βWe rely on the almighty God and your good selves to get to the root of this case,β the letter concluded. βIf it takes ten years, the killers of our son will be brought to justice, and history will not be kind to every single soul that covers up the iniquity and inhumanity of man to such a promising youngster.β
Additionally, the legal team representing Mohbadβs family has expressed concern over the public disclosure of sensitive details about his death. Taiwo Odumosu, a key member of the legal team, emphasized that such information should be shared with the police rather than made public. He urged anyone with relevant details to come forward to assist with the investigation, stressing that leaking information could hinder the inquiry.
A Coronerβs Court in Ikorodu, Lagos State, has ordered substituted service for key witnesses in the ongoing inquest into Mohbadβs death. Witnesses to testify include Mohbadβs sister-in-law, Karimot Ogunbayo; Boluwatife Adeyemo, aka Darosha; Mohbadβs lawyer, Oluwasanmi Falade; nurse Feyisayo Ogedengbe; and driver Fidelis Esanbor. The court has granted an application to serve witness summons through national newspapers and social media to ensure their prompt attendance and has also recalled Mohbadβs wife, Wunmi, and the IPO in charge of the case, ASP Muhammad Yusuf, for further clarification on new issues.
