Mavin boss, Don Jazzy has implored the Nigerian government to do better in protecting the rights of citizens.
In a series of tweets, the Mavin boss in honour of the HumanRightsDay implored the Nigerian govt to do better in promoting and protecting the fundamental rights of Nigerians both at home and the diaspora. He revealed that he stands against inequality, press gagging, forced child labour, and marriage which are the main issues causing havoc in the country.
He wrote, Today, being the #HumanRightsDay, globally commemorated in honour of the adoption of the universal declaration of human rights by the @UN General Assembly; I humbly ask the govt to do better in promoting and protecting the fundamental rights of Nigerians at home and in diaspora.
I stand against social inequality, press gagging, stifling of dissenting voices, police brutality & high-handedness, illegal detention of citizens without trials, forced child labour & marriage, extra-judicial killings by security operatives, among others.
It’s important to note that every citizen has the right to life and liberty, as backed by the constitution of this republic. Nigeria has a no of reps in top positions in the @UN and that alone should make us be at the forefront, prohibiting the infringement of human rights.
