The 9th edition of the Nigeria Music Video Awards (NMVA) 2014 was held yesterday, 26th November at the Convention centre, Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island.
Hosted by DJ Jimmy Jatt, the show themed, “A world without violence”, was dedicated to further deepening the consciousness of a violence free environment which is necessary for peace to thrive. PSquare Personally Hits 30 Million Views On YouTube
Pop group PSquare has added another feather to it’s already crowded cap. The group made up of brothers Peter and Paul Okoye have created a new record .
Their video to the hit single ‘Personally‘ has gotten over 30 million views on YouTube. This makes it the most watched Nigerian music video on YouTube, and possibly Africa as well.
Manager of PSquare, Jude Okoye, thanked fans for allowing PSquare achieve this feat.
‘Personally‘ was released on June 20, 2013. The video was co-directed by Jude Okoye and Clarence Peters.
A 2Face & Asa Collaboration in the Works?
Going by 2Face`s post on Instagram, it seems we`ll be hearing quality stuff from him and arguably one of Nigeria`s biggest soul exports, Asa anytime now.
2Baba hinted at a collaboration between them when he posted a picture of both of them hugging, with the caption ”˜Asa my love. 2 much talent I can`t shout! What will be the title of this jam?`
If this is indeed happening, I and I`m sure most good music lovers too, will want to hear this track soonest!
Cassper Nyovest Finally Works With Wizkid!
The man behind arguably the biggest rap single in Africa this year, Cassper Nyovest spoke of his admiration of Wizkid and how much he is looking forward to work with the Nigerian music star.
Wizkid has been in South Africa for about a week now and it looks like Cassper has finally gotten his wish. The 23 year old rapper, told his fans to look out for sounds from himself and Wizkid. “This is gonna be BIG!!!! The perfect combo!!!! @wizkidayo. Praiz Announces Release Of Debut Album ‘Rich & Famous’
Arguably Nigeria`s finest R&B singer Praiz will release his debut album this December. ”˜Rich & Famous` will be a 27-track double album and will be released on December 14, 2014. Praiz explains one half of the album (Rich) will contain soulful songs will the other half (Famous) will have a more pop feel to it.

Chidinma Given An Award From Her Village For Her Hardwork
Female singer Chidinma over the weekend received an award for her diligent contribution to music in the country. The award was offered to her by people from her home town Ifakala of Mbaitoli local government of Imo state. The artiste who was impressed and moved by the award expressed her joy on her Instagram page.

Sammie Okposo wins Best Of Africa Gospel Artiste at SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards
Veteran gospel singer, Sammie Okposo has been in South Africa for the past few days.
Apparently he is in town for the 2014 edition of SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards 2014 and it looks like his trip paid off. According to him, he is the winner of the category Best Of Africa Gospel Artiste for the 2014 award. His crown award looks interesting. See it below.

Davido`s Manager Floats New Company
Kamal Ajiboye, manager of multiple award winning pop star, Davido, has just floated a new media and management company called Twenty20 Media. NET exclusively gathered that the company has been in operation since it was registered in 2013. Responding to NET enquiries, Kamal confirmed the existence of the firm. ”˜Yes, Twenty20 is my company, it started in 2013, but you guys would see and hear more of it in the coming weeks`.
When asked if Twenty20 media would affect his role at HKN, Kamal replied thus; ”˜Not at all, I own Twenty20 media while I`m a director at HKN so they can`t clash, Twenty20 Media will also be the company that would handle the management of Davido and all other artistes under HKN` Kamal said.
Kamal has been part of Davido`s career from the very beginning and was one of those who played key roles in persuading Davido`s dad to allow him do music when he came back from America. He however took over as Davido`s full time manager in January 2013 when Davido parted ways with his former manager Asa Asika.

The diminutive singer has revealed that he will be releasing a line of snap-backs soon. The line of caps will be made in conjunction with DJ Nu Kidd. He made this known on his Instagram page. Wizkid is highly regarded as one of the most fashionable artists of his generation. Snap-back is an urban slang term for an adjustable flat brim baseball cap.
