Damini Ogulu, also known as Burna Boy, a Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, has accomplished another milestone in his career, becoming the first African artist to reach two billion streams in the United Kingdom. In appreciation of his accomplishment, the singer was awarded with a Brit plaque at his sold-out show at Koko Camden in London on Monday night.
This comes only a few weeks after he was awarded a Brit 1 billion streaming plaque at his sold-out event at the London Stadium last month. Receiving his Brit 2 billion streams plaque, Burna Boy claimed that he fought for it.
He said, “Thank you very much. I appreciate you. Ehen, now that’s it. You’ve to fight for your right.”
One of the presenters inferred: “You already have it. You don’t need to fight.”
Burna Boy said: “No. You know, we have to fight for our rights.”
