Tanika Ray, a former backup dancer for Diddy, talked about her traumatic’ incident from working with him in the 1990s.
On Tuesday, veteran media personalities Joy Reid and Touré, who have covered Diddy extensively over the years, shared their experience with the music mogul.
Ray, who also served as a backup dancer for Diddy in the ’90s and later hosted “Extra,” took to social media to disclose an allegedly traumatic’ encounter that led her to keep her distance from the Bad Boy Records founder for years.
In her post, Ray shared,
“I simply made it a point to avoid him completely… Yes, I performed as a dancer for him and maintained my boundaries. I interviewed him for his projects while keeping my distance. None of the current revelations surprise me.”
Ray’s statement followed Touré, The Grio’s creative director and former MSNBC host, sharing a more detailed account of a relative’s experience with Diddy.
During an interview with Joy Reid, Touré recalled his familiarity with the music mogul, saying,
“I have a personal relationship with him where I could call him and ask for a favor.”
He continued,
“Around 10 or 12 years ago, I contacted him about hiring a family member as an intern, and he agreed.”
However, Touré revealed that the internship abruptly ended after three or four months.
“When I asked my family member what happened,” Touré shared with Reid, “they refused to speak about it… Years later, they finally disclosed this family member, a male revealed that Puff had made advances, saying, Come over, spend the night with me, or the internship is over.’”
According to Touré, his relative declined the offer, stating, “Absolutely not,” leading to the termination of the internship.
