Reekado Banks as just released the most shocking but maybe long expected news through his social media pages.
Reekado just few minutes ago announced that he has left Mavin records after spending 5 years in the Don Jazzy owned record label.
Mavin signed Reekado Banks in the year 2013 alongside Korede Bello and Aphro Dija, and since then he has gone on to establish himself as a music superstar in the Nigerian music industry.
The Headies 2015 Next rated winner penned an emotional message to Don Jazzy, thanking him for the huge impact he’s had in his life and as well appreciating his efforts in making him who he is today.
The Catapult singer writes’ Today i write in tears, not from a place of pain but of joy and gratitude. A place of bliss and satisfaction because i am more than contented with how far this opportunity has brought me. The list five years have been the most blissful of my career. The journey has been extremely wonderful and filled with the best experiences. I’ve learnt that family is not just by blood ties but about the love, sacrifices and friendship that exist amongst its members.
The singer further talked about his experiences with Mavins records and thanked Don Jazzy specially. He writes, Joining the @Mavinrecords family is the best thing that has happened to me in the last decade. @donjazzy took me in and treated me like his own son. I’ll be eternally grateful for the sacrifices he made towards the growth of my career. His selflessness and efforts towards me and the entire Mavin crew is one that is admirable and worthy of emulation. A true KING with a large heart, full of kindness and ready to accommodate more people.
Reekado did not fail to recognise and appreciate other members of the crew as he writes, And to the rest of the crew, our family is a clear exaample of the saying, We rise by lifting others.” Thank you all for the times you’ve lifted me at my lowest moments, for the amazing hits and most especially; the LOVE.
He also explains why he has left Mavin records. He writes, Taking this step and moving on from Mavin Records and bigger opportunities is something that, though not easy is absolutely necessary because of my growth. I am very ecstatic about what the future holds and i cannot wait to share it with everyone what new opportunities have come. Live long Mavin Records.
This is indeed a bold step from Reekado Banks and we surely wish him well.
