Osita Jonah Ikegwuonu aka Prince Osito was born and raised in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Osito hit the road to Europe in 1998 – this long, tough exodus deeply marked his identity in music. He settled in Barcelona, Spain, where he started performing on the reggae scene along with sound systems and became the leading voice of the reggae band, Urban Roots.
Prince Osito released his debut album Diobu Boy in 2007, including a set of collabos (Shinehead, Aqeel, Lyricsson), stepping from raggamuffin chanting tracks to new roots songs. His second album, Play Me! came out in 2012. It combined genres candidly – afrobeat,
calypso, dance hall, drum & bass, hardcore hip hop – still maintaining the reggae vibes throughout. Featured on the album were the Nigerian music industry pioneer acts including Gentleman, Daddy Rings, Eedris Abdulkareem, Junior Reid and Macaco.
