Olamide Gbenga Adedeji was born on 15 March 1989. He is known professionally as Olamide (BaddoSneh or Baddo), a Nigerian rapper and singer and songwriter.
Olamide Gbenga Adedeji was born in Bariga, Lagos state on the 15th of March, 1989. He is the second of the three children of Pa Adedeji and his second wife, Ronke Osisanya Adedeji. Olamide has two siblings, TemmyGold and Eniola Olamilekan (who is also known as DJ Enimoney).
Olamide started his career when he released the debut single, “Eni Duro,” in 2010. In the same year, he performed at The Hip Hop World Awards, now Headies Awards.
He studied mass communication at Tai Solarin University, but dropped out due to financial problems.
Adedeji is married to Adebukunmi Aisha Suleiman.They have two boys together, Maximilian Boluwatife and Tunrepin Myles. Olamide allegedly has a love child out of wedlock with Maria Okanrende, who at the time worked at The Beat FM.
He is one of the biggest and most influential artists out of Africa. In 2011, he released his debut studio album Rapsodi while signed to Coded Tunes. YBNL (Yahoo Boy No Laptop), his follow-up to Rapsodi was released under his label imprint YBNL NATION.
Prior to the album release, Baddo released a slew of monster hit singles including “First of All“, “Voice of the Street“, “Stupid Love“, and “Ilefo Illuminati“.
In November 2013, he released his third studio album BGEL “Baddest Guy Ever Liveth”. The album housed hits like Yemi My Lover and Durosoke. On 17 July 2013, Olamide became the first Nigerian act to sign an endorsement deal with Ciroc.

At the beginning of Baddo`s career, he was signed to Coded Tunes, owned by ID Cabasa and managed by Toni Payne, who was married to 9ice at the time. Toni Payne was accused by 9ice of cheating and this led to a lowkey beef between him and 9ice which affected Olamide`s career until he buried the sheath with his senior colleague years later. In 2012, he left Coded Tunes and started his own record label.
Adedeji’s second studio album YBNL was released in November 2012. It was named after his newly formed record label, YAHOO BOY NO LAPTOP. Its production was handled by Tyrone, Samklef, 2 Kriss, Pheelz, and ID Cabasa. The album also features guest appearances from Davido, Tiwa Savage, Kayswitch, Dammy Krane, Reminisce, Samklef, Buckwylla, Minus 2 and Base One.
Olamide’s third studio album, BGEL was released in November 2013. He recorded the album between 2012 and 2013 and featured guest acts like in-house producer Pheelz, Buckwyla, Ketchup, Ice Prince, Pepenazi, Endia, Viktoh, B.Banks, Phyno Pele Pele and Bez on it. The album was produced in its entirety by Pheelz, except for the thirteenth track “Sitting On The Throne“.
Baddest Guy Ever Liveth won Best Album of the Year at the 2014 Nigerian Entertainment Awards and was nominated for Rap Album of the Year at the 2014 City People Awards, it won Best Rap Album and Album of the year at the 2014 Headies.
In May 2013, it was rumored that Olamide had signed a record deal with DB Records, owned by D`Banj. Olamide, however took to Twitter to debunk the reports. In an interview with Toolz O on NdaniTV’s The Juice, he revealed that it was “too late” for anyone to sign him.
In November 2014, Olamide released his fourth album Street OT. The album was preceded by singles like “Story For The Gods” and “Goons Mi“, Street OT featured guest acts like Phyno, Don Jazzy, Chinko EKUN, Lil Kesh and Reminisce. Its production was handled by Pheelz, B-Banks and Young Jonn.
In 2015, Olamide released a joint album with Phyno titled 2 Kings.
In November 2015, Olamide’s fifth studio album Eyan Mayweather was released on 23 November 2015 with production credits from Pheelz, Young Jonn, B Banks and I.D. Cabasa. The album houses 21 tracks with no single feature.
Olamide’s sixth studio album, The Glory was released in December 2016 with production credits from Pheelz. The Album contains 16 tracks with features from artistes like Phyno, Wande Coal, Burna Boy, Akuchi and Davolee.
Olamide revealed to the public on 18 February 2020 that his record label, YBNL Nation has signed a Joint Venture deal with international distribution company, Empire just 8 days after dropping the 999 EP.
He further stated that Fireboy DML, and any new artist signed to YBNL Nation will join him to benefit from the deal.
Olamide’s eleventh album Carpe Diem was released on 8 October 2020. Carpe Diem housed 12 tracks and featured young acts like Omah Lay, Fireboy DML, Peruzzi, Bad Boy Timz, Bella Shmurda and Phyno with production credits from Young John, Pheelz, P.Prime, Idcabasa and VStix. The album surpassed the 500Million streams mark in June 2021.
In March 2021, Olamide released another album, UY SCUTI, citing that his son was the inspiration for the album.
In February 2022, he revealed plans to drop another album titled; Unruly. The release date & tracklists are yet to be announced, but we can already hear a little bit of the album on Olamide`s newest track, Hate Me. A dope feature with Wande Coal.
