Tiwa Savage’s Ex-husband and 323 Entertainment boss, Tunji Balogun popularly known as Teebillz has thrown shades at alleged ignorant music followers by revealing that Afrobeats wouldn’t have been in existence if not for D’banj and Don Jazzy.
The music mogul who seems to be angered by the under-appreciation sent the way of both Don Jazzy and Bangalee when credits are given to those behind the international fame that Afrobeat is currently enjoying took to his Instagram page to make the personal revelation as well as shade those who overlook the two former music partners when given a shout-out out to active pioneers of the music genre.
He wrote; “It’s funny how everyone is shouting AfroBeats to the world now and conversations are being held around the world without acknowledgement ……. without the KINGS @iambangalee and @donjazzy there will be no #Afrobeats blessings to you guys
“Oliver Twist by D’banj, produced by Don Jazzy took AfroBeats to international awareness and acceptance! As someone that has invested in the growth of Nigerian music industry… no time to go back and forth based on my last post! The tag AfroBeats started from the UK, although i disagreed then bcos the original sound of AfroBeat is FELA.
“The world accepted Nigerian music as a new genre, AfroBeats!….. when dem no even teach u the history of the country you are from in school how can you know about the music.”
