The music industry is buzzing with excitement as Street Pop artist Shallipopi officially drops his latest project, Presido La Pluto.” This album takes listeners on an unrestricted musical journey, spotlighting the artist’s unparalleled talent, avant-garde sound, and daring spirit. Shallipopi pushes the boundaries of his creativity with this music, capturing his evolution as an artist. Each track on the 13-track album – Presido La Pluto – carries a distinct vibe, thanks to collaborations with both local and international music heavyweights.

Remarkably, being able to establish a unique musical identity so quickly after just entering the music scene – that is, being able to recognize a Shallipopi song the moment you hear it – is a tremendous accomplishment by this musician. Shallipopi’s distinctive approach has actually earned him a reputation for creating easily melodious lines, most of them tinged with the irreverence of street transactions and youthful energy. This began with Elon Musk, which went from a simmering underground smash hit to a club banger that has come to stay. His verses are exclusively influenced by the street culture and legacy of Benin; the song Obapluto from his Planet Pluto EP is a symbol of that legacy.

Shallipopi, who has been one of the more disruptive and talked about artists in Nigerian rap this year, has just released his debut album, Presido La Pluto, with the concept of going all out as he is in the spotlight. This is a huge endeavor that should capitalize on his flow to be very familiar with the Nigerian music industry. The album’s tracks also feature appealing choruses that invite listeners to embark on a melodic journey with Shallipopi, showcasing his ability to blend artistic flare with a range of abilities. Continue reading for a track-by-track analysis of Shallipopil’s Presido La Pluto album.

Never Ever

The opening track of the debut album, Presido La Pluto, by Shallipopi, is a decent attempt that gives the album a preceding theme that flows through the project. Shallipopi uses this track to make bold and confident lyrics that show how he sees himself as bright and powerful – “they’ve “never ever” seen a bad guy like him.

Evil Receive

This track is another demonstration of Shallipopi’s fondness for Amapiano as he introduces his street plights and orientation. His flows are witty and unique as he vibes over the amazing beats and instrumentals. The streets would really love this one.

Cast ft. ODUMODUBLVCK

The third track on “Presido La Pluto” album which sees one of the only four special features of this project. The honorable feature is with exciting Nigerian rapper, ODUMODUBLVCK who rapped marvelously with his contribution on the track. Shallipopi picked the perfect collaboration with ODUMODUBLVCK on “Cast” for sure.

More Than Me

As the song’s title says, “More Than Me”, is more of bragging rights by the Afro-pop singer, Shallipopi, who makes sure to make it known that despite folks trying to be like him, they really can’t be more than him. His uniqueness is definitely his selling point, fans would really enjoy Shallipopi vibes on this track yet again.

Eazy

This track intro may start off to remind you of one of the tracks of his “Planet Pluto” EP, but well that’s also the unique selling point fans admire Shalipopi for. This song demonstrates how much the artist craves and wants an easy life even for those around him, and that’s why he keeps chasing the money and the lifestyle.

Things On Things

This track is one of the pre-released songs that set the tone and the prior announcement of the musician’s debut album, “Presido La Pluto”. The track is of Shallipopi’s typical vibes and the song has been a club banger and hit that has been on everyone’s lips since its release.

Wet On Me ft. Zerrydl

Adding to the allure of Shallipopi’s much-anticipated album, Presido La Pluto, is the remarkable inclusion of Wet on Me featuring Zerrydl as the 7th track. Among the thirteen stellar tracks that constitute this impressive body of work, Wet on Me stands out as a unique offering. Infused with infectious beats and catchy melodies, the song is sure to leave listeners craving more of Shallipopi’s captivating sound.

Iyo

“Iyo” is another brilliant sound where Shallipopi perfectly combines local Benin elements with Afropop sounds. The sound is amazing and is one where everyone especially local fans would find themselves repeatedly grooving to.

Oscroh (Pepperline)

Oscroh is another pre-released hit single by Shallopi to announce his first album recently released. The song has been accepted and admired by fans worldwide despite witty lines and the inclusion of nursery rhyme melodies.

Over The Seas ft. Focalistic

In yet another stellar collaboration, marking the third of the four features on the Presido La Pluto album, Shallipopi teams up with Focalistic for a track that seamlessly blends major Afro elements with Amapiano, complemented by Shallipopi’s witty rap style. This song showcases Shallipopi’s ability to masterfully fuse different musical styles, creating a beautiful and distinct musical experience. The collaboration with Focalistic adds an extra layer of creativity to the track, making it a standout piece on the album.

Jungle

As we go on towards the end of this project, Shallipoi comes through with some soul-worthy rhythms as he flows in a stylish rap manner on this song, “Jungle”. The Street Pop artist mentions being the voice of the youth and also the hottest boy in his city.

Jonze

This song, Jonze, comes on as Shallipopi’s usual vibes on an Amapiano tune as he hums the melody with some Fuji elements mixed with Afropop. This is one incredible tune everyone would get familiar with in no time.

So What? ft.Tekno

“So What?” is a pretty good Afrobeats tune, in which the collaboration with Tekno did great justice to the track. Both Afropop musicians came through with their best vibe that everyone is really familiar with. What a way to end a remarkable project.
