In a new interview with The Times, Rod Stewart revealed which young artists he believed would stand the test of time.
βYou mean like Maggie Mayβ? Songs that will be played in 50 years?β Stewart asked, before continuing, βI like whatshisname. Oh f-ing great, Rod. Well done. Heβs British, really talented and his songs will be around.β

When the interviewer suggested that Sheeran is the person whose name he forgot, Stewart denied.
βNo, not Ed, I donβt know any of his songs, old ginger bollocks.β
Ultimately, Stewart was thinking of βBarcelonaβ singer George Ezra.
βYes! I think he writes really tremendous songs,β he said of Ezra. βHeβll be around for quite a while.β
Last year, Ed Sheeran released his latest album Autumn Variations. Produced by the Nationalβs Aaron Dessner, Autumn Variations extended Sheeranβs perfect albums chart records in the U.K. and Australia to seven, all consecutive (including two in 2023).
