The heartbreaking news about Patoranking’s sister has left fans and the entertainment industry in shock.
Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Patoranking, is mourning the tragic loss of his younger sister, Chioma, and her husband, George. The couple reportedly passed away after a devastating gas explosion at their home. This news comes shortly after the singer celebrated his daughter’s sixth birthday, where he expressed deep love and admiration for her. Instagram blogger, Cutie Juls, broke the news of the tragic incident involving Patoranking’s sister, revealing that it occurred just a day after the couple’s housewarming and their child’s birthday celebration.
According to the blogger, Patoranking’s sister, Chioma, died immediately following the gas explosion, while her husband, George, initially survived but sadly passed away on September 11, 2024. In light of the tragedy involving Patoranking’s sister, Cutie Juls urged his colleagues and friends to reach out to him during this difficult time.
The blogger’s post read, “Remember when I posted last week or so that Patoranking’s sister passed away in a gas explosion incident in their home and the husband and the child were battling for their lives. The husband also couldn’t make it; he just passed away. Patoranking tried so much, buying tons of blood to help save his brother-in-law’s life, so at least his nephew won’t be born an orphan. Remember, he loves his sister so, so much. Please, his friends should check up on him.”

Meanwhile, Patoranking recently built a new mini-stadium in his community, Ebute Meta. The artist, who grew up in Ebute Meta, gave back to his community through this newly constructed stadium, providing a space for local youth to play sports and develop their athletic talents.
While unveiling the stadium on his X account, Patoranking stated, “God blessed Me, I Blessed my People, I built this from a place of love to unite my Community Ebute Metta…First of Many World Best.”

This was not the first time the artist had empowered people or communities. Patoranking is well-known for his philanthropic efforts, having previously supported educational initiatives and youth empowerment programs in Nigeria and other African countries.
In a related news, Patoranking previously reflected on his challenging journey to stardom saying how he and his father once hawked on the streets of Lagos just to make ends meet. Despite growing up in the Lagos urban slum of Ebute Meta—where he recently built a mini-stadium—Patoranking remained focused and overcame numerous obstacles to achieve his goals.
Patoranking made these remarks while accepting the role of UNDP Goodwill Africa Ambassador for Youth Innovation, Enterprise, and the SDGs at the launch of the Timbuktoo Fintech Hub in Lagos by the United Nations Development Programme. He stated:
“I hawked on the streets of Lagos with my father. Many years ago, I used to sell on this street [Kings Way road]. It used to be a very hot spot for trading. Many years after, everything that I pictured I wanted to become, the man I wanted to become is who I am now. So when I was driving down to this place it was a little bit teary moment for me because I saw myself [on this road],”
The ‘Alubarika’ crooner urged the youth to harness their talents in developing their communities and Africa at large. He advocated for a borderless Africa, aligned with “the 4ps – burning borders and building bridges – that I live by.” Patoranking added:
“That is why I have songs with artistes from Uganda, Kenya, Ghana and so on. I accept to be the UNDP Goodwill Africa Ambassador for Youth Innovation, Enterprise and the SDGs. Today I am not just an artiste, I am a voice for many African youths who desire to make Africa work for themselves and their communities.”
