Vector Is A Brilliant & More Matured Rapper Than MI…Do You Agree?

Although MI is regarded as arguably the greatest Nigerian rapper alive, many are still of the opinion he is overrated based on the belief that he drops too many regular lines and not so dope lyrics that is expected of a rapper who is regarded as “the greatest.”

Lots of music fans believe instead of according to him such huge title, one of his greatest rivals, Vector, is more deserving of it. Many believe Vector is a better rapper than MI as a result of his hardcore lyrics, deep and very difficult to decode punchlines (which after eventually decoded, blows your mind away) and enviable word plays on his records.

For example, about 10 years back, legendary rapper, Modenine took the Headies “Lyricist on the roll” award as his own for quite a number of years until he was stripped off it by Vector who later went on to win it for a couple of years more. Stripping Modenine off that award was a thing many considered to be impossible as at that time as a result of the legend’s immense rap qualities too, but due to Vector’s brilliance and ingenuity when spitting his lines, he knocked the title off the legendary rapper. This further aids the notion of the fans that believe Vector is a greater rap asset than MI.

The argument still never ceases among Hip-Hop fans as to who is the better rapper between MI and Vector though, while many will choose MI as a better rapper due to his profound success in the rap game, as much number as that many would choose Vector as the better one due to his brilliant display of exquisite rap lyrics on his records and others’.

There are both good and matured in their craft, but critically speaking, Vector is more brilliant and lyrical than Mi. How can Vector be a better lyricist than M.i or more matured? When Young denzel’s lyrics are like deep scriptures, and Vector’s raps usually sound like A, b, c, d or some other nursery rhymes and mostly he is trying to imitate Jay-Z?

Vector winning an award from Modenine means nothing if you consider that the awards dont say nothing about an artiste true worth or ability but rather only tells us the preferences of the award judges, just like you the writer in this article.

I would rather go with the judgements of other good rappers and lyricists on them, and till now that demographics shows M.i reverred above Vector anytime anyday not just in Nigeria but all over Africa, even by South African rappers, who seem to be presently leading in the game as long as Africa to the globe is concerned.

You also claimed a statistics without showing a statistics, you claim as many as would say m.i is the better one, there are many as such who would or rather who say the same about Vector, hmmm how did you come to that conclusion? You have a verifiable research statistics to back up that claim? Or you actually just mean that as many of your friends that acclaim M.i to be the best, a similar amount claim the same about Vector?

We can also speak of their commercial numbers
, this doesnt necessarily tell ones skills, but atleast it can show us to a degree who the consumers believe is worth their cash.

Lastly maybe you the writer can show us your rap credentials and we would take this post any more serious than a propaganda. And please Vector is not M.i’s closest rival, lyrically speaking they are not even in the same class, young denzel is the chairman, vector is not even a board member, hehehe modenine yes, but certainly not Vector, haba bros how far you na? Vector better than M.i how?

I rest my case jare. They are both good on their individual and respective lanes, but while Vector is one of the kings on the federal express way of rap among other vehicles, M.i is all by himself on an airplane runway, get that please and stop trying to bring down the idol.

Point of correction you did not say Vector was ‘M.i’s closest rival’ but ‘one of M.i’s greatest rivals’ , just thought to point that out so i dont accuse you of what you did not say, nevertheless your whole write up could easily be confused to be saying that, not just that even but that Vector is better and M.i is just over rated and even is numbers dont actually mean nothing.

Worst of all, the awards you speak of is ‘Headies’ , which Nigerian artistes dont even so much as respect or talk more of revere anymore, at least from the treatments and body language of some artistes towards ‘Headies’ in very recent years shouldnt that be telling us something?

@Tundex you are right, about the neccesity of Jesse Jags at Choc city as a producer, and also its also glaring that when it comes to top off the dome freestyle, jesse is king among choc city. There is no crime for a producer to bring out the best in one, besides there are better lyricist than B.i.g you never heard and would never hear, only because they didn’t have a perfect matching producer for themselves. However, it dont matter how good the producer is, if you’re not gpod, you’re not good, not to abuse anyone but lets take a look at former mohit records Don Jazzy brought out the best in Dbanj, they fitted perfectly but despite how good Don Jazzy is, Prince Omoba didnt have the same buzz as Dbanj.
