Azeez Sanusi comes through with a new single titled Something More
Born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, singer songwriter Azeez Sanusi`s sound is reflective of his earliest musical influences, afrobeat legends Fela Kuti and King Sunny Ade, whose music was the soundtrack of his youth. With a dash of Naija hip hop, American hip hop, and southern blues, Azeez also credits artists like 2Face Idibia, Tupac, and Muddy Waters with inspiring his eclectic style. A talented vocalist, Azeez has been writing songs and singing since he was a teenager in Lagos. He can`t remember a time when he didn`t have a tune in his head, or wasn`t jotting down song lyrics.
Now residing in Portland, Oregon by way of Lafayette, Louisiana, Azeez`s sound is the result of a life full of challenges and unique experiences. It was while in college in Louisiana pursuing degrees in computer engineering, that his love of music became a passion and creative outlet.
Life brought him to the Pacific Northwest upon completion of his PhD in Computer Engineering, and what started out as weekly jam sessions with his new network of Nigerian friends, became the catalyst to take his love of music to the next level.
Whether it`s his experiences travelling around the world or exploring the pacific northwest, his creativity is fed by the beauty of nature and surrounding himself with creative people. Azeez’s songs showcase his eclectic style.
