After a stiff competition between quick-witted and highly innovative Infinix customers in the #EmpoweredByInfinixNote8 challenge, Infinix has finally been able to sort through a deep pool of entries and have selected deserving winners.
At the initial stage of the challenge, Infinix prompted fans who needed funds to get their business ideas off the ground to send in their business plans, showing in detail how they could effectively expend 1million naira on their business ideas. Hundreds of entries were received and it was a herculean task deciding which of the entrants would proceed to the next stage as all entries were utterly brilliant.
Thankfully, Infinix had the expertise of Lanre Olusola, popularly known as the Catalyst, to guide them into making the right picks.
Lanre Olusola is the founder of the Olusola Lanre Coaching Academy and an Alumnus of Harvard Business school. His wealth of experience spans across different fields including Business, Psychology, Therapy and more. He served as the Judge through the period of the challenge and helped with the selection of the final grand winners.
After due evaluation of the entries received, selected participants proceeded to the final stage where they had to present their business ideas to the judge in-person. After a fierce defense session, Adebare Olajumoke @Jummibareamalaspecial, a food business owner who produces and sells her own packaged Yam flour popularly known as Amala in Nigeria emerged as a grand winner from Instagram. On the other hand, Glory Oduma, a fish business owner was also selected among the participants from Facebook to win the 1million Grand prize.
Other participants did not walk home empty handed. Mr Olusola personally offered to give five hundred thousand naira each to @hopedsolutions and @de_hannahs who came second. The third place winners: @ebuns.place (IG), @yellowtapebyzino (IG) & @olukiri (TW) also got NGN 100k consolation prizes to promote their businesses courtesy Infinix Nigeria.
With the publicity and support that these participants have earned through this campaign they can finally move their businesses to a new clime and begin writing a whole new chapter of their lives. Speaking about the campaign, Infinix Country Manager, Amos Zhao said, “We are proud to have pioneered this initiative. We received many brilliant ideas from young entrepreneurs during the course of this campaign and we are very proud of these young folks that participated.”
He also added that “Seeing the results from this campaign, we wouldn`t be shy to bring up an initiative
like this again in the future. We hope that the winners will expend this fund thoughtfully and that we`d get to see their businesses blossom in the coming year.”
With campaigns like this among others, Infinix continues to prove that they are much interested in investing in the lives of young Nigerians and inspiring them to push beyond the envelope in their respective fields of interest.
