Nigerian singer Augustine Amedu Obiabo, popularly known as Blackface, has called for Plantashun Boiz reunion, which originally included 2Face, Faze, and himself.

On his Instagram page, Blackface suggested a Plantashun Boiz reunion, emphasizing his desire for peace and unity, stating that “unity is strength.”Β In his post, Blackface wrote:
βPlantashun Boiz reunion, the question now is to be or not to be and why? @fazealone @official2baba.
βMy people, oya make una talk put mouth for this matter! We are on a mission for world peace and itβs not a small thing!
βUnity is strength and not division. Letβs go champs.β
Plantashun Boiz split in 2004 after the release of their sophomore album “Sold Out”. The group reunited in 2007 for a third and final album, “Plan B”, before disbanding again. In 2017, Blackface revealed that he had reconciled with 2Face after a long-standing feud.
Meanwhile, Blackface has made serious allegations against Afrobeats sensation Asake, claiming that Asake copied his song without permission. During a recent interview with Naija FM, Blackface accused Asake of sampling his song “Ikebe Supa” on the hit single “Joha.”
Blackface, who was a former member of the defunct group Plantashun Boiz, also accused industry heavyweights Wizkid and Burna Boy of intellectual property theft. He alleged that Wizkid and Burna Boyβs song βGingerβ is a sample of his track βTwist & Turn,β noting that only the verses were changed. Blackface compared the unauthorized use of his music to child molestation, emphasizing how deeply it affects him.
He stated: βGinger by Wizkid and Burna Boy is a sample of my track βTwist & Turnβ; the rhythms, the beat, how the melody starts and ends. Na only the verses dem change. Asakeβs βJohaβ is a sample of my song βIkebe Supa.β I dey inspire them.β

Blackface clarified that while he is not opposed to young artists sampling his music, he feels it is wrong that they do not seek his permission before doing so.
