Despite thorough autopsy results, ongoing police investigations, and numerous court proceedings, the exact cause of Mohbad’s death has not been determined.

In other news, Mohbad’s family has expressed dissatisfaction with the Lagos State Police’s handling of the investigation into his death. Taiwo Odumosu, representing the family, criticized the police for their alleged lack of professionalism, diligence, and integrity. They called for the investigative team to be replaced by a specialized unit from headquarters, accusing the police of mishandling the crime scene and neglecting crucial evidence.
The family’s letter stated, “The police’s apparent avoidance of investigating this critical area is concerning and suggests a serious oversight in their investigative procedure.” They expressed concerns about a potential cover-up and vowed to pursue justice relentlessly. “We rely on the almighty God and your good selves to get to the root of this case,” the letter concluded.
Furthermore, the legal team representing Mohbad’s family has raised concerns over the public disclosure of sensitive information about his death. Taiwo Odumosu emphasized that such details should be shared with the police rather than made public and urged anyone with relevant information to assist with the investigation.
A Coroner’s Court in Ikorodu, Lagos State, has ordered substituted service for key witnesses in the ongoing inquest into Mohbad’s death. Witnesses to testify include Mohbad’s wife, his sister-in-law, Karimot Ogunbayo; Boluwatife Adeyemo, aka Darosha; Mohbad’s lawyer, Oluwasanmi Falade; nurse Feyisayo Ogedengbe; and driver Fidelis Esanbor. The court has granted an application to serve witness summons through national newspapers and social media to ensure their attendance and has also recalled Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi, and the IPO in charge of the case, ASP Muhammad Yusuf, for further clarification on new issues.
