Bankole Wellington, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Eti Osa Federal House of Representatives, popularly known as Banky W, has spoken out for the first time since he lost the 2023 elections to the Labour Party’s Thaddeus Attah. In a video he posted of himself at a Sunday service in church, he expressed his deep disappointment over the outcome of the election.
Banky W admitted that he had too many plans for his victory, including a thanksgiving ceremony, searching for a flat and office in Abuja, and more. However, those plans did not come to fruition and the singer had to deal with the disappointment of his loss. Despite this, Banky W affirmed that his trust in God has kept him strong and helped him understand that it is normal to feel hurt when faced with such a situation.
The singer also thanked his supporters for their unwavering love and support during the election period. He mentioned the hard work and dedication of his team and volunteers that helped him throughout the campaign. He expressed how proud he was of their efforts, regardless of the outcome.
Captioning a snippet of the video on IG, he wrote,
“For anyone who`s ever suffered through a loss, a disappointment or a situation where things just didn`t work out the way you hoped”¦ “Faith after a Fall” is for you. For me. For all of us. Please watch this and share if you feel compelled.”
