Davido Announces Sixth Studio Album ORIADÉ, Set for July 31 Release
Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has officially announced his sixth studio album, ORIADÉ, which is scheduled for release on July 31, 2026.
The announcement marks the beginning of a brand-new era for the award-winning singer and arrives at a significant moment in his career, coinciding with the 15th anniversary of his journey in music. Following the success of his 2025 album 5ive, Davido is now preparing to unveil what promises to be another defining chapter in his ever-evolving catalog.
The title ORIADÉ is derived from two Yoruba words: “ori,” meaning head or destiny, and “adé,” meaning crown. Together, the title symbolizes destiny fulfilled and a purpose crowned with success—an idea that Davido says reflects both his personal and artistic journey.
Speaking about the project, the singer described ORIADÉ as a celebration of the path that has brought him to where he is today.
“Over fifteen years ago, I made a decision to trust something I couldn’t fully explain… I just knew music was my destiny,” Davido said. “ORIADÉ is a celebration of the journey that led me to where I am now. To be in a position where I can help push African music forward around the world is something I’ll never take for granted. I hope when people hear my new album, they understand that purpose doesn’t always follow the expected path. The biggest blessings often come from betting on yourself, even when the destination isn’t in sight yet.”
Leading the rollout is I Know Who I Be, which was released on June 26 and serves as the first official taste of the upcoming album. ORIADÉ also arrives as the official follow-up to 5ive, a project that earned Davido another top-five entry on the World Albums chart and featured collaborations with artists including Victoria Monét, YG Marley, Shenseea, Chris Brown, Becky G, and Omah Lay.
The announcement caps off another remarkable year for Davido. Earlier in 2026, he made his Coachella debut with a vibrant performance that included a surprise appearance from Adekunle Gold. He also teamed up with Major Lazer and Nelly Furtado on No Place Like Home, featured on the official FIFA World Cup 2026 soundtrack, before performing the song at the tournament’s countdown concert in Los Angeles.
With anticipation already building across the Afrobeats community, ORIADÉ is shaping up to be one of the biggest African album releases of 2026. Fans can expect more details—including the official tracklist, featured artists, and additional singles—in the weeks leading up to its July 31 release.
