Illbliss, a well-known Nigerian rapper, has recalled his late comrade, Oladapo Olaonipekun, also known as Dagrin.
On April 22, 2010, the rapidly rising indigenous rapper was killed in an automobile accident.
On the 14th anniversary of the late rapperβs death, Illbliss stated that his βlegacy will never endβ.
On Wednesday, April 24, 2024, Illbliss posted a photo of Dagrin on X and wrote:
βKeep Resting Bro!
βYour legacy will never end.
βWe remember you.
βWe respect your colossal immeasurable contributions to Nigerian Hiphop. You inspired so many
βKeep resting.β
Dagrin is widely credited for paving the way for indigenous rap in Nigeria, and inspiring many other indigenous rappers even after his death.
He was known for hits like Pon Pon Pon, Thank God (feat. Omawumi), Kondo, If I Die and many more.
He died at the age of 25.
