The chart-topping rappers dominated the 2021 BET Award nominations announced on Thursday, with a total of 7 slots each, at the award which has been slated to airing live on the 27th of June, 2021 from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angele.
Rapper, Megan Thee Stallion bagged as many as 7 nominations including that of Best Female Hip Hop Artist, Video of the Year, Album of the Year, and Best Collaboration. DaBaby, on the other hand, secured the Best Male Hip Hop Artist, Album of the Year, and Viewer`s Choice Award.
Drake and Cardi B take the spot of the 2nd most nominated acts, scoring five spots each, while 4 nominations went to Chris Brown, Chloe x Halle, Bruno Mars, and Anderson Paak. All of those acts are nominated for video of the year.
In the movie category, Issa Rae has been nominated for the award of Best Actress alongside Andra Day, Jurnee Smollett, Viola Davis, Zendaya, and Angela Bassett.
The late Chadwick Boseman, Daniel Kaluuya, Eddie Murphy, Lakeith Stanfield, Aldis Hodge, and Damson Idris were nominated in the category of Best Actor.
