Recently, Marlian Champion, a member of Naira Marley‘s crew, made a statement via Twitter that has stirred a debate amongst fans. His statement conveyed that since Mohbad left Marlian Music, a former record label of his, his music career has been on a steady decline.
He claims that the singer released a few songs after going independent yet none of them achieved the same success as his singles while he was signed to the former label. Champion then suggested that Mohbad should return to Naira Marley and Marlian Music as the rate at which his career is not progressing is very depressing.
This statement has received a lot of attention as many fans have given their insights and opinions on the matter. Some fans are of the opinion that Mohbad should return to the record label as he was more successful whilst he was under their wing. Others seem to be in dissent with the idea and think that Mohbad should remain independent to maintain ownership of his work and to build a more sustainable career.
