
Mohbad’s family has voiced their worries and dissatisfaction regarding how the Lagos State Police are managing the investigation into his death.
In a letter from Taiwo Odumosu representing the family, they mentioned, βThe manner in which the case has been managed raises serious questions about the officersβ professionalism, diligence, and integrity.βΒ The family called for the current investigators to be disbanded and for a specialized team from headquarters to take over the case of their sonβs death.
βWe request that the current team handling the investigation in Lagos be overhauled due to their unprofessional and shoddy handling of the case,β the letter stated.
Mohbad‘s family claimed that the police did not handle the crime scene properly, did not respond well to their report, missed important evidence and witness statements, and did not conduct a forensic investigation.
βThe policeβs apparent avoidance of investigating this critical area is concerning and suggests a serious oversight in their investigative procedure,β the letter said.
βIt is imperative to question who the officers might be protecting, on whose instruction, and why such a high-profile case is being handled with such apparent disregard for standard investigative procedures,β the letter stated.
The family concluded by saying, βWhile we rely on the almighty God and your good selves to get to the root of this case, one thing is certain: If it takes ten years, the killers of our son will be brought to justice, and history will not be kind to every single soul that covers up the iniquity and inhumanity of man to such a promising youngster.β
Mohbad’s family highlighted their fears about a potential cover-up and the investigation not being transparent.

In related news, the legal representatives of late Mohbad, have expressed concerns about the public release of sensitive details regarding his death. Taiwo Odumosu, a key member of the legal team, stressed that such information should be shared directly with the police rather than made public. He urged anyone with relevant information to come forward to support the investigation and prevent any hindrance caused by the premature disclosure of details.
The legal team highlighted that information intended for police investigation is being disclosed publicly, which could compromise the investigation’s effectiveness. They encouraged individuals with useful information to contact either the legal team or the police to ensure proper handling and protection of witnesses. Odumosu also pointed out that the coronerβs inquest had issued summons for witnesses, underscoring the familyβs need for assistance in uncovering the facts surrounding Mohbadβs death.
He clarified that Joseph Aloba, Mohbad’s family remains focused on finding the truth behind his sonβs tragic passing rather than on personal relationships.
Meanwhile, Prime Boy, a close friend of the late singer, has made significant allegations against Mohbad’s widow, Wunmi Aloba. Prime Boy has accused Wunmi of being involved in her husbandβs unexpected death, a claim that has sparked intense discussions and speculation about the circumstances surrounding the singer’s passing.
Prime Boy, who has faced criticism from internet users, voiced his frustration over the accusations surrounding Mohbadβs death. In a recent social media statement, he highlighted that several individuals from Mohbad’s family, including Mohbadβs widow, his mother, and Wunmiβs sister Karimot, have also questioned Wunmiβs involvement. He also mentioned that while taking care of Mohbadβs young son, Liam, he sometimes pretended to close his eyes, allowing the one-year-old to fall.
Prime Boy claimed that he is being unjustly accused of involvement in Mohbadβs death, which he insists he had no part in. He specifically pointed to Wunmi, alleging that she played a role in the tragic event. This bold assertion has further fueled the speculation and controversy surrounding Mohbad’s death.
