Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti has revealed that his family was part of the pioneering members that founded the Anglican Church in Nigeria.

Recall that Kutiβs great-grandfather and grandfather, Josiah Ransome-Kuti and Reverend Israel Oludotun Ransome-Kuti were Anglican ministers during colonial Nigeria.
Despite his familyβs significant contributions to the propagation of Christianity in Nigeria, Seun Kuti clarified that he does not align himself with the religion.
Kuti stated this during an interview on the latest episode of the Spill With Phyna podcast.
The singer declared that he is a βjujuβ worshipper.
He said:
βIt was my family that started the Anglican side of Christianity in this country if you look back at it. We are among the pioneers. So, weβve been there, weβve done that and weβve moved on. And we hope Africans can follow suit. I donβt go to church. Na juju me I dey do.β
