Popular singer, Skales has finally opened up on his 8-year-old beef with Afrobeats superstar, Wizkid. For many years, fans and onlookers have wondered as to the root cause of the rift between the two artists and were left with speculation. It would be recalled that the two had blasted each other on the micro blogging platform, Twitter in 2015.
The brawl had started when, during a question and answer with fans on twitter, one Twitter user asked when Skales and wizkid would release a song together. Skales had jokingly said, at the time, that WizKid was too busy for him. In a recent interview with Echo Room, Skales revealed that his comment was meant as a joke and that the singer had misinterpreted it.
He revealed that it was his friend who had called to inform him that WizKid was cussing his dad on Twitter over what he had said. Skales said that the replies which came from his account at the time weren`t even from him but from the lady he was dating at the time. This further illustrated the magnitude of the misunderstanding as it had been directly directed at Skales` father. He added that he felt totally insulted by the whole scenario, but attributed it to the possibility that WizKid might have been in a bad mood at the time – a mood which had been compounded by the misconstrued tweet.
In his interview, Skales went on to explain that he had opted to remain quiet and simply forgive WizKid for his actions. He also said that he no longer harbors any animosity towards WizKid, also noting that they have done two songs together since the incident. It appears that the beef between these two highly respected acts have finally been put to rest, to the delight of many music fans.
